Loughton Youth Project (LYP) is a registered charity that works with and supports young people, aged 11-24 in providing;
* positive activity youth work
* young peoples’ mentoring programmes
* radio and media project training and activities
* CV and employability support
Based at The Space, a purpose-fitted youth centre and media studio inside Loughton Library Building we work with young people, after school and in the evenings to provide a safe, creative and social space for young peoples’ welfare, entertainment and personal development.
Loughton Youth Project also works in partnership with Jobcentre Plus to provide employability support to young adults.
Additionally, we work closely with other local voluntary, statutory and educational partners on many joint young persons’ initiatives throughout the year.
The Space is a free, drop-in centre for young people to access during advertised opening times and is equipped with:
* a pool table
* xbox and PS3
* chill out zone
* laptops and wifi
* broadcasting studio
Our facilities and activities are managed and supervised by friendly, trained staff and volunteers.
